Hornsey’s rail service runs into Moorgate rather than the West End, which suits City commuters and suits us, since it means a Saturday drop-in rather than a lost weekday. The 41 runs along Tottenham Lane through Crouch End to Archway, though it does not call at Hornsey station itself, so allow a short walk to Tottenham Lane. By road it is about eight minutes.

What about parking, coming from Hornsey?
Hornsey Road is long, straight and speed-humped for most of its length, so allow more than two miles’ worth of time. You come out onto Holloway Road heading north, on the correct side. The main road is a red route with no stopping, so turn into the Zone P side streets behind it. Those are controlled Monday to Friday until 6.30pm and Saturday until 1.30pm, and are generally free outside those hours, which makes a Sunday visit the simplest of all. If you are travelling from near Hornsey station, note that the 41 runs from Tottenham Lane rather than the station itself.
